1.1 Deal Pal Inc. ("Deal Pal," "we," "our," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect your personal information when you use the Deal Pal™ mobile application and related services ("App").
1.2 By downloading or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and consent to the practices described herein.
1.3 This Policy complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable Canadian privacy laws.
1.4 If you do not agree with this Policy, please discontinue use of the App immediately.

• Precise GPS location (with explicit permission only)

Location data is used exclusively to show nearby deals. The App does not access precise location without your explicit opt-in via device permissions.

• Deal posts (title, price, store, quantity, location info)
• Photos uploaded to the App
• Comments, replies, likes, and interaction metrics

• Device model
• OS version
• IP address
• Device identifier
• Mobile network info

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

3.2 Anonymized and Aggregated Data
We may use anonymized and aggregated data for analytics, research, advertising performance, and commercial insights. We never attempt to re-identify anonymized data and implement measures to prevent re-identification.

• Targeting is based on aggregated or anonymized data
• We do not share your personal information (like emails or exact location) with advertisers

4. DATA MONETIZATION (ANONYMIZED ONLY)
We may analyze and share anonymized, aggregated insights such as:
• Popular stores and categories
• User behaviour patterns
• Geographic trends
This data:
• Cannot identify you
• Contains no personal information
• Is used only for research or commercial insights
5. DATA RETENTION
5.1 User-Generated Content
Deal posts, comments, and images expire and are permanently deleted after 24 hours.
5.2 Account Information
• Retained while the account is active
• Deleted within 30 days of account deletion (unless required by law)
5.3 Security Logs
Minimal, anonymized logs may be kept for fraud prevention and compliance.
6. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
6.1 Third-Party Service Providers
Trusted vendors may receive data to support the App, including:
• Cloud hosting (e.g., Supabase, Cloudflare)
• Analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Sentry)
• Email/notification services
They must:
• Use the data only for Deal Pal purposes
• Maintain robust security
• Never share the data further
6.2 Legal Requirements
Disclosures may occur if required by:
• Law enforcement
• Court orders
• Safety and fraud investigations
6.3 Business Transfers
In case of a merger or acquisition, your information may transfer to a successor entity. We will notify users if their data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
• The App is intended for users 16 years of age and older.
• Users between 16-17 require parental or guardian consent.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16.
• If information is mistakenly collected from users under 16, it will be deleted upon notice.
9. SECURITY MEASURES
We use industry-standard safeguards, including:
• SSL/TLS encryption
• Encryption of sensitive data at rest
• Password hashing
• Access controls
• Regular audits
• Monitoring for suspicious activity
No system is 100% secure, and users are responsible for keeping credentials confidential.
